How to take

One capsule daily with a meal. In the Zenroot™ trial it was taken in the morning, after breakfast.

Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Not for use under 18. Consult your healthcare provider before use if you have a thyroid, liver or autoimmune condition or hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, are scheduled for surgery, or take thyroid, immunosuppressant, sedative, anti-seizure, antidepressant, stimulant, blood-thinning, diabetes, blood-pressure or other prescription medication. Stop use and contact a doctor if you notice yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine or persistent itching. May cause drowsiness in some people.

The science

Four branded actives, every dose disclosed. Zenroot™ (125 mg) and affron® (28 mg) are at the exact doses of their placebo-controlled trials. Rhodiolife® is at 150 mg, half the 300 mg a day its maker recommends — so we make no claim for it. Vegan D3Vance™ D3 is there as a nutrient, at 125% of the Daily Value.

These are studies of the ingredients, nearly all supported by their makers, not of this finished product. The chapters below show what each trial measured, in whom, and when.

Asked, answered.

What’s in the Balanso stress formula, and at what doses?

Per one-capsule serving: Zenroot™ ashwagandha root extract (125 mg, 1.5% withanolides), Rhodiolife® rhodiola root extract (150 mg, 3% rosavins), affron® saffron extract (28 mg, 3.5% Lepticrosalides®) and vegan D3Vance™ vitamin D3 from lichen (25 mcg / 1,000 IU, 125% DV). No proprietary blends — every milligram is on the label.

Is this for anxiety or depression?

No. It is a dietary supplement to help manage everyday stress and support a positive mood and sleep quality — structure/function support, not a treatment. If you are being treated for anxiety, depression or any mental-health condition, that is a conversation for your clinician, and this product is not a substitute for prescribed care.

Is ashwagandha safe, and can I take it with medication?

For most healthy adults, ashwagandha root extract has been well tolerated in trials, including the 12-week Zenroot™ study at our 125 mg. It isn’t for everyone. Rare cases of liver injury have been reported with ashwagandha products, mostly within the first three months.

What is Zenroot™, and why 125 mg?

Zenroot™ is OmniActive’s root-only ashwagandha extract, made with water and ethanol and standardized to 1.5% withanolides. Its placebo-controlled trial gave 90 adults aged 18–55 with everyday stress 125 mg a day for 12 weeks — the exact amount in our capsule. Perceived-stress and sleep-quality scores improved from week 4, and mood scores from week 8, compared with placebo. The study was funded by OmniActive.

What is a capsule-in-capsule?

An oil-filled outer capsule with a separate, smaller powder-filled capsule sealed inside. The vegan D3 travels as an oil in the outer capsule; the three extracts sit in the inner one. One capsule a day carries both fills.

How long before I’d notice anything?

In the ingredient trials, perceived stress and sleep quality improved by week four (Zenroot™), mood at four weeks (affron®, in adults with low mood) and at eight (Zenroot™). Treat it as a daily routine — give it at least four weeks, and a full twelve to see the whole picture.

Were these studies done on this product?

No — and we won’t imply they were. The results we cite come from published human trials of the individual branded actives at the doses shown, nearly all of them supported by the ingredient makers. The finished formula itself has not been through a clinical trial.
